New Edition Hit With Lawsuit By Former Managers

Singer Bobby Brown rejoined the New Editon tour after missing a few shows, but now there’s another issue the group must deal with.

New Edition is being sued by their former management team after not being paid for services rendered. Benchmark Entertainment, who’ve had hands in the careers of Erykah Badu and Will Smith, filed a lawsuit against the legendary Boston group in Manhattan Supreme Court on July 29. According to Benchmark Entertainment, they signed New Edition to the company in 2012. Benchmark Entertainment was never paid after booking the group three shows and setting up interviews in 2013 and landing them the current tour they’re on now.

Benchmark Entertainment claims they were paid 12.5% of the concert profits last year. However, Brown and the rest of New Edition decided to part ways with the management company and refused to pay them for any work related to the current tour…
